FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW DO WE GET STARTED?

I offer a free 20 minute phone consultation to determine if we might be a good fit. During this call, I want to hear about your concerns and for you to hear more about how I work. Please feel encouraged to ask questions! If we decide to move forward, we will schedule an appointment and I will send you some forms to complete prior to our first session. For child and adolescent patients, I prefer to meet with parents first. It may take a few sessions for us to really determine whether or not I am the right person to help you; in the event of the latter, I will do my best to connect you with a trusted colleague.

WHAT IS YOUR FEE?

My fee for a 50 minute session reflects the average cost for psychotherapy in the Bay Area. I offer a sliding scale on a case-by-case basis. I do not accept insurance, but can provide you with a monthly statement if needed.

HOW OFTEN WILL WE MEET?

I provide both brief therapy (3-6 months) to address specific issues, as well as long term depth psychotherapy. Generally, psychotherapy is most effective when meeting regularly once per week.

HOW DO I PREPARE MY CHILD FOR THERAPY?

During the intake process, we will spend some time thinking about how to introduce me and the concept of therapy to your child. Each narrative will vary based on what brings your child to treatment and their level of developmental understanding. IS YOUR OFFICE ADA ACCESSIBLE?

Unfortunately, not. There is a short flight of stairs leading to the suite. Please feel free to contact me regarding telehealth options or for other referrals.
